(What's a Book Launch Team?)

It's really, really important for any indie author like me to get reviews and get exposure, especially when releasing a new book. My Launch Team is intended to be a community of readers who enjoy sci-fi fiction and don’t mind helping a writer (me) launch new books.

For that reason, I want to make sure the community is made up of dedicated, engaged people. It should be fun, but I really need readers who are happy to read my books and post reviews and aren't just there for the freebies (see below).

What’s in it for you?

Good question.

I realise that asking you to leave reviews and help promote my book launches is sort of a big thing to ask, so I’m going to throw in a few things I hope will make it worthwhile for you:

• Free books - Pretty much everything I release, whether it’s a novella, a short story, an anthology, or anything else, I’ll send it to you free of charge, before it hits the shops.

• Free audiobooks - Whenever I release one of my books as an audiobook you'll be in with a chance of a free copy.

• Chance to win prizes - From time to time I'll run a contest, open exclusively to Launch Team members, with prizes like limited edition signed hardbacks, t-shirts, mugs and posters.

What am asking from you?

• To post a review on Amazon or whatever platform you get your books from whenever I send you a free book.

• To mention the book/link to it or your review on Facebook, Twitter (X), Threads, TikTok, your blog or whatever you use to communicate with the big wide world. (Don't worry if you can't do this bit - it's great if you can but just being able to post reviews is the most important bit.)

• That's it!
